Thanks to the help from our very generous supporters Chris and Dave, TCO has broken ground on installing 10 new Bio-sand Water Filters (BSFs) and 4 new wells in the Tuol Roveing Village, Lvea Commune. TCO staff went to the community to give a presentation on the filters and handover the necessary materials for the endeavor. This presentation given by Rattana not only covered the proper maintenance and installation of the filters but also proper hygiene techniques that can be used to improve the lives of the villagers.
After the presentation the villagers were introduced to the provided physical materials: the cement water basin, the sand and rocks, and the metal diffusers. Then, TCO demonstrated the proper installation at a school in the community so that the villagers can continue to install the remaining filters. Over the next 15 years, these filters will provide clean water to over 56 local households in the community. The following pictures portray that days wonderful events.
